About
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) agency has been present in operations since 1941. Initially, the bureau was named Special Police Establishment, and on 1st of April 1963, it was renamed as Central Bureau of Investigation. Shri D.P. Kohli was the first Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation, who worked until the end of May 1968. After him, Mr. F V Arul came on his position and worked until 6th of May 1971. From 1971 to 2012, several directors came and as of 2014, Ranjit Sinha is the director of Central Bureau of Investigation. The head office of the agency is situated in New Delhi, India. The agency has about 52 branch offices at the various locations across the country.
