Apeejay Institute of Management was established in 1997 by the Apeejay Education Society, founded by Chairman Dr. Stya Paul, with Lord Swraj Paul as the Patron. The Apeejay Institute of Management has a very clear perspective of becoming academically responsive to the requirements of the Indian industry and commercial establishments. It has set for itself the goals of flair for innovation and capacity for adapting to the changing corporate scenario. The Institute draws its strength from a highly qualified and experienced faculty. Apeejay Institute of Management is located at Rama Mandi-Hoshiarpur Road, Jalandhar. The campus is spread over a sprawling area of about 6 acres with lush green lawns, modern lecture theatre, air-conditioned conference hall with latest PA system, state-of-the-art air-conditioned computer-labs, air-conditioned Library etc. The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Govt. of Punjab and is affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. We are committed to the course of developing IT - savvy human resources for meeting the requirements of diverse sectors of the economy, both Indian and global. We aspire to be one of the best institutions imparting management and computer education in this part of the country and are sure that we have the requisite 'resources' and the 'will' to achieve it.
Library is of prime importance in any educational institution. The Apeejay Institute of Management Library grown into an impressive resource center of knowledge, worthy of providing all relevant data and information pertaining to various disciplines, such as social sciences, psychology, economics, general management, finance, accounts, production, operations management, marketing, trade & commerce, including international trade, business laws, taxation, strategic management, information technology, and mass communication etc. The library is fully air-conditioned, spacious and has more than 18,557 books, 77 journals & 16 newspapers. The library is open till late in evenings, on Sundays and also on holidays to inculcate reading habits amongst the students.
The Apeejay Institute of Management has established a high tech state-of-the-art computer lab and is equipped with High-end Servers. 120 computers of P-IV configuration, two laptops and two LCD projectors have been added and further 30 P-III systems have been upgraded. In all, we have now 312 computers of which 3 are Servers, 281 are of P-IV configuration and 24 are of P-III configuration. Internet Facility is upgraded from 2.5 Mbps to 5 Mbps. The students and staff make an extensive use of Computer Labs for Practical, Internet and e-mail facilities. The digital and hardware lab is well equipped with IC trainer Kits, Bread Board, Microprocessor Trainer Kits, IC testers, CRO, Interrupt Controllers, DMA Controllers Etc. for full interaction of students with digital as well as computer hardware.
The lecture theatres and classrooms are specially designed to make the teaching effective with the help of overhead projectors and LCD Projectors. The Apeejay Institute of Management has a well lit & acoustically designed beautiful Auditorium with a sitting capacity of 300 persons. The Auditorium is used for organizing cultural activities and major seminars. Apeejay Institute of Management hostels are a unique form of accommodation in which arrangements create a warm and congenial atmosphere is formed that is difficult to describe but must be experienced to understand. The campus has two three-storey hostels, one each for boys and girls with an intake capacity of 75 students per hostel. Each hostel has a Resident Warden with supporting staff.
Appreciating the role of sports in the overall personality development of the students, the Apeejay Institute of Management has developed infrastructure for sports like cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton and indoor games like table tennis, chess and carom, and a full-fledged gymnasium. The institute has acquired a 52 seater Deluxe bus fitted with music system and P.A. system. In addition two 30 seater buses of the adjacent sister institution are also available. Apart from providing transportation facility to daily commuters, students and staff, the institute also provides this facility for industrial visits and excursion trips. The institute has a spacious cafeteria. Which serves wide variety of eatables to students and staff. The Institute has also developed a conference room equipped with modern PA system, LCD Projector to organize seminars, guest lectures, group discussions and mock interviews. The conference hall has a seating capacity of 70 participants. The institute has added the gymnasium facility for the students. The gymnasium is fully equipped with all modern equipments like tread Mills, multi-gyms etc.
Apeejay Institute of Management offers different kind of Undergraduate and Postgraduater courses. Undergraduate courses: Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor in Computer Applications (BCA) and Postgraduate courses: Masters in Business Management - (MBA), Master of Computer Application (MCA), Ph.D. in Management.
During the completion of the programme, the Apeejay Institute of Management helps the student in exploring placement opportunities by inviting various companies to the campus for placement through its very active placement cell. At AIM placements are generally a students’ managed activity under the supervision of Training & Placement Officer and a committee comprising of faculty members. The placement programme is spread over a three-month period, which gives the recruiting companies and the students' adequate time to interact with each other. Apeejay Institute of Management's Campus Placement Programme for the MBA & MCA batches met with success, surpassing its record of the previous years. Students have a life long and fulfilling relationship with the institutes. A separate placement cell is in operation to meet the students' expectations. The institute props up the students by arranging industrial visits and assigning real-time mini projects in their area of interest. The students are given able assistance to strengthen their chosen area of interest. The institute has separate cell to guide students through in plant training in various industries and organizations. The students gain real time experience through this in-plant training.
