History
The bank was founded with the name PT Bank Kopra Indonesia which was changed twenty years after its foundation in 1976 to PT
Bank Danamon Indonesia. It is regarded as the first Indonesian bank that started the foreign currency exchange in the year 1976. It was also considered as the largest bank of Indonesia according to the growth based on integrity, transparency of work and responsibility to the community in 2003. During the same year, the majority shares of the bank were overtook by Asia Finance Indonesia, which was controlled by Temasek Holdings. It is also listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for public trading since 1989.
