Mr. John M. Chatterton On Phone To First Alert Service
Bought four 10yr Smoke Detectors and one 10yr Smoke Detector / Carbin Monoxide Detector the combined Smoke Detector / Carbin Monoxide Detector suddenly went off so we vacated our home and called the Fire Department because of the type of alarm, who came and TESTED the air in and around our home and found it to be a FALSE alarm, but we could not get it to STOP sounding an alarm so they disabled it and now we have NO ALARM for CARBIN MONOXIDE. We contacted AMAZON who derected us to you.
We bought a First Alert CO alarm back in 2014. It was supposed to last ten years, but failed after only 2. I do not remember exactly what the error was, just that the back of the unit said to replace it for the number of chirps I was hearing. First Alert sent a free replacement which was actually the combination CO and smoke alarm because the CO alarm was on back order. Now two years later this one started chirping once a minute (do these units always do this in the middle of the night?); the back of the unit says that means replace the unit. They are sending me another free one, but it would be nice for First Alert to investigate this problem.
Ihave an electric First Alert Carbon Monoxide alarm-Battery backup for the last three years. I tested it the other day because of a coming storm. Test warning did not work. Changed batteries. Still nothing, no alarm. No nothing.

If you are going to allow products to be sold through Amazon, you should discuss proper packaging. Shipping a 100 pound safe in a cardboard box is ridiculous. Of course it arrived damaged and the transaction went downhill from that point. Very disappointed Cell 701-740-2039.
I recently purchased four (4) First Alert single station smoke alarms. Less than six months ago. Model numbers P900. The problem I am having is none of them work anymore. The alarms came with provided nine volt batteries, Ever-ready No. 1222, so this is what I installed. I recently went to check the alarms for functionality, and nothing. I tested the batteries and they were completely dead. I then put an Energizer No. 522 in them and still nothing. I went on to read the recommended battery use and the batteries provided weren't even on the list of suggestions. It also states use of other than suggested batteries could have detrimental effects on the alarms. My belief is that the use of the provided batteries damaged the alarm. I tried to return to store and was denied and told to contact First Alert. Please send your thoughts and any reconciliation advice. Thanks, Unsatisfied Customer.
