Government Polytechnic College - Thiruvananthapuram began functioning during the year 1991-1992 under World Bank Assited Technician Education Project with an intake of 30 students each in four branches of Engineering - Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Avionics, Electronics & Instrumentation and Computer Engineering. At Government Polytechnic College - Thiruvananthapuram , new course on diploma in Computer Application & Business Management has started during 1999-2000.
