In its efforts to reach out to more sections of the population in its area of operations PIMS has designed and implemented several free and inexpensive care schemes focussing on indigent mothers and children, low income families with no health insurance support and several other less fortunate groups.
Worked out in concert with governmental and non- governmental agencies, these innovative projects are a reflection of PIMS' sincerity in implementing its aim of bringing world class medical care to the villages. Since inception, Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences - PIMS Karimnagar has chalked out an ambitious agenda of outreach Programs and purposefully sought to pursue them. Each Program has been developed after a very thorough study of the healthcare needs of its neighborhood in particular and of Karimnagar district as a whole. The three criteria that inform all the Programs are that PIMS reach out to : the poorest, the most vulnerable and as large sections of the community as possible.
Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences - PIMS Karimnagar library's front entrance leads to the referencing section hall where very important titles of Medical are stored in the on open shelves. Directories, Encyclopedias, MCQ books Etc., are available in this section. The faculty members can conveniently do their referencing work in the area exclusively arranged. The Journals received in the calendar year are displayed on several pigeonhole racks. At the end of the year, these are sorted date-wise and sent to the binding work. Bound volumes of journals are stored in the first floor according to the titles alphabetically.
Canteen is located within Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences - PIMS Karimnagar campus which is open till late hours to provide meals, snacks & beverages according to personal tastes & preferences. Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences - PIMS Karimnagar has provided separate hostel blocks for boys and girls with full time resident Hostel wardens for both. The Hostels have excellent facilities such as well ventilated, spacious rooms with high quality furniture, separate study table and cupboard for each resident and attached bathrooms. There is a hygienic mess serving wholesome meals throughout the day in a separate Dining Hall. The recreation room has facilities for indoor games, magazines & periodicals and satellite T.V. service. A designated area has been provided for outdoor games also. There is 24 hours running water with solar heaters and the electric supply is uninterrupted with the help of power generating sets.
