Amtrak is an intercity passenger rail transport service operator in the United States. Its headquarters is located in Union Station, Washington, D.C., United States. Formed under the Service
Act of 1970, Amtrak started its journey on May 1, 1971 through its first train named as Clocker, which served passengers from Philadelphia - New York. In 1972, it opened a new station in Cincinnati. Amtrak started a new reservation service called, "Automated Reservation and Ticketing System"(ARTS) in 1973. It began marketing under the slogan “We've Been Working on the Railroad” in 1976.
