The Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow is one of the youngest central universities in the country. The jurisdiction of this residential University is over the entire state of Uttar Pradesh. The campus Vidya Vihar is located off Rae Bareli Road, about 10 kms south of the Charbagh Railway Station, Lucknow. The objects of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow are: to make provisions for integrated courses in key and frontier areas of science and technology and other allied disciplines, to offer appropriate courses including agricultural technology and rural crafts relevant for the development of socially and economically depressed sections of the people, to make appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-learning processes in interdisciplinary studies and research. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow Boys hostel is centrally located in the University campus near to the South city gate of the campus. The hostel is provided with 120 spacious and well furnished rooms which can accommodate near about 200 students. The hostel has Mess facility and recreation facilities like TV room, indoor games and scenic rose garden in the premises of the Hostel. The hostel has built in residence for Hostel Warden and office of Hostel warden. The Hostel provides accommodation for the students (boys) of M.A/ M.Sc/ M.Phil /Ph.D of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow. The rooms are allotted on the twin sharing basis.
The professional foundation for the library services of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow was laid in January 1998. The library inherited approximately a thousand reference books acquired by earlier arrangements and a thousand books in Hindi donated by the UP Bhasha Sansthan programs. It was then housed in two rooms at the second floor of the Block # 3 of the Administrative Building. In keeping with the vision and mission of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow, the library has been established "to promote knowledge generation and application through its effective dissemination". The library, therefore, acts as the main learning resource centre of the University to supplement educational and information needs of the faculty and students of our University and provides information services and facilities to meet the requirements of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow teaching, training and research programmes. The library services are also extended to non-teaching staff and visitors.
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – BBAU Lucknow has a well equipped guest house. It is centrally located within the University premises. It has enough no of rooms (including V.I.P suit). All rooms are well furnished with all facilities. Guest House has its own dining and meals are served to all guests as per the menu. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – Lucknow has a full fledge branch of Canara Bank located in the administrative block. University provides medical and health facilities to its members.
