Apart from a well ventilated three-storied college building, we have 15 spacious class rooms, a Conference Hall, a well equipped Computer Lab with online legal resources and search engines, a Library with the latest edition of curriculum law books and journals as well as other reference materials and an administrative office as a part of our campus.
To facilitate an all round development of our students and to channelize the youthful energies, Deccan Education Society Law College-DES Law College provides a well equipped gymnasium and an expansive open ground for all the outdoor athletic sports activities. The medium of instruction for Law Degree Courses as prescribed by the University of Pune is English. A student who wishes to pursue law as a career needs proficiency in English language in the role of a student as well as a practitioner as English is prevalently used in Law books, documents, case-laws and forms. Though Court-proceedings, documentation and arguments in the lower judiciary can be in vernacular languages, yet fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a sine qua non for a successful legal career.
Deccan Education Society Law College-DES Law College is our library has the best available law books procured from various sources, keeping in mind the spirit of inculcating a thirst for legal research. Thus updating the library with the most recent publications is one of our main objectives. To assist the students and other research scholars in locating information, the library has an efficient, committed and capable staff. The library also offers computer facility to students working on various research assignments. The Deccan Education Society Law College-DES Law College is equipped with a spacious lab having a holding capacity of 15 users/ units at a time. The lab is open for 9 hours a day for the exclusive use of students. High speed broadband connectivity provides an extended access to vast intellectual resources. Access to online Legal Resources and Search Engines like Manupatra and Super Law is available. Students are provided with CD-writing and Printing facilities. The students make use of these facilities as an integral part of their daily operations. The Placement Committee proposes to conduct various activities and workshops like the career development, personality development, interview techniques, mock interviews and group discussions and interface between recruiters and students. The preparation of a database of final year students towards this purpose has been undertaken.
Beautiful gothic style buildings adorn the Deccan Education Society’s 50Acre Fergusson Campus. Situated between the Main Fergusson Building on one side and The Wadia Library on the other, the N.M. Wadia Amphitheatre stands tall on the campus. Deccan Education Society Law College-DES Law College also provides with a well maintained canteen facility shared with Fergusson College. The Canteen is centrally located which provide for fresh and homely refreshments at a student friendly cost. We also have hostel facilities for our students for both boys and girls. We share this facility with Fergusson College, Pune. The Fergusson College hostel facility comprises of in all 6-blocks, 4 blocks for gents and 2 blocks for ladies. We strictly follow Anti-Ragging laws applicable to the State of Maharashtra.
