Dr BC Roy Engineering College - BCREC Durgapur popularly known as BCREC, was set up on 21st August, 2000, under the overall management of Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College Society. Dr BC Roy Engineering College - BCREC Durgapur was affiliated to the University of Burdwan for the students admitted in 2000-01 session. But from 2001-2002 sessions onwards the college was affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology .The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal. All the courses offered conform to the latest requirements and syllabus is structured by WBUT.
