Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore was established in 1989. To reach highest levels, exactly 25 years later, Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore was started in a sprawling 50 acres site at Shri Gambhirmal Bafna Nagar at Malumachampatti, Coimbatore. The sprawling campus houses buildings with architectural grandeur, Hanuman temple, separate, homely hostels for boys and girls, Staff Quarters, well-maintained mess and canteen.Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore is not only known for its architectural excellence but also for its academic achievements. Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore is located at Shri Gambhirmal Bafna Nagar, Malumachampatti, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. The Hostel facility is available within Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore campus for both boys and girls. It provides residential accommodation and boarding facilities for about 600 students. The Hostel atmosphere provides self confidence and institutes discipline in the minds of students and provides scope for the ideas of harmonious communal living to enable them to share joys of fellowship and professional fraternity. The Principal of Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore is the Chief Warden of the hostels. Each hostel has an Assistant Warden who is in charge of amenities in the hostels and discipline. A resident Tutor and a Hostel Convener for each hostel assists the Assistant warden.
The two boy’s hostels have three floors each and three persons are allowed to stay in each room with the total capacity of 350 persons. There are 119 rooms in two hostels. The girl’s hostel has three floors with 47 rooms accommodating 140 persons. Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore has constructed another Girls Hostel with the total capacity of 88 persons. Each floor is having 16 rooms. Each person in a room is provided with a cupboard, cot, table & chair. Electricity is available throughout 24 hrs. In cases of power failure, Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore provides power with the help of the generator. Separate mess for boys and girls with vegetarian food is provided. Also, available is a water purifier and a water cooler.

Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science - Coimbatore maintains separate cricket kits only for the hostel students. Indoor games have separate table tennis room and a carom-board room. Other games like volleyball, football, badminton, etc. are also provided to the hostel students both boys and girls. Separate van is provided for the hostel students for every one hour. Temple is near the hostel. Additional hours are allowed for the hostel students after the working hours in the college.
