Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi was the first business school in India which started offering Full Time MBA programme and is the business school of the University of Delhi. Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi was established in 1954, the school offers management training to professional managers in part-time and full-time MBA programmes. It has been consistently ranked among top business schools in Indian b-school surveys. The first set of professors was trained at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the institute was started at the Delhi School of Economics under the leadership of Prof. A. Dasgupta. It is one of the oldest business schools in India and has a very strong alumni network. Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi comes under the aegis of the University of Delhi. The past decades have witnessed a significant growth in the nature and number of programmes offered at the FMS. Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi was ranked the 4th Best b-school in India by the Business Today magazine survey 2010, just behind IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta. It was ranked the 5th Best b-school of the nation by the Outlook magazine survey 2010. According to public perception, FMS Delhi ranks 4th, as substantiated by the popular MBA preparation forum Pagalguy in its 2010 rankings.

Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi has the among the most modern, state-of-the-art computer centers with over 200 computer systems (Pentium III & Pentium IV) in its north campus facility. Along with this computers are available in the library, class rooms and lecture theaters while faculty has individual computers and laser printers in their rooms. For use of the societies - computers and laptops have been provided at the newly designed Management Science Association (MSA) Center. The computer to student ratio is amongst highest in any institute in the country. The entire campus has a Switch based Local Area Network (LAN) operating under Windows-NT. The students can work on various platforms such as DOS, Linux, Windows-95, Windows-98 and Windows-NT. The entire campus is fully networked via a 256kbps leased line internet connectivity. The hostel rooms are also connected to this through the leased line facility provided by the University via the centralized server.
Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi has its main library at North Campus of the University. It has air-conditioned reading rooms housing over 50,000 books and over a 100 Journals (including 60 foreign journals). A branch library with a sprawling reading room functions at S.P.Jain Advanced Management Research Center, South Campus. Both the libraries are well stocked with textbooks, reference books and other documents. Along with this the students have access to the Ratan Tata Library which has a collection of over 200,000 books and over 1,000 journals on management and economics. The students can also access the University library as well as study rooms depending upon their interests.

The school has great reputation amongst corporates for its marketing and finance programmes. It is situated in the North and South campuses of the University of Delhi. Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi has exchange programmes and collaborative arrangements with leading industrial and business houses, management institutions and professional associations in India and abroad. It is the founder member of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) and is working towards regional cooperation in management education and development in the spirit of SAARC. Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi is also one of the participating institutions in the India-EEC Exchange and Co-operation Programme for Management Professors. Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi is among the few B Schools where every permanent faculty member is a PhD FMS boasts of 27 permanent fulltime faculty one of the highest student faculty ratio in the country of about 3:1.The pedagogy is determined by the faculty which is a mixture of case studies , lectures and role plays making learning interactive and intense .The faculty is also involved in various consultancy programmes and MDPs.
The Placements Cell at Faculty of Management Studies – FMS Delhi consists of five students elected by the student community to take up the single post of Secretary, and four posts of Joint Secretary. The members of the Placements Cell work together, and with members of the faculty, act as a cohesive team whose strength is the wide-ranging experience gained from their diverse backgrounds and competencies.
