RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata was setup in 1999 by Regional Computer center Calcutta, with active support from National Informatics Center (NIC), Govt. of India and Dept of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal. College is now under RCC Institute of Technology, an autonomous Society of Department of Higher Education Government of West Bengal.
The mission of the RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata is to Inculcate a sense of ethics and respect among all its family members as well as heritage of our society. Develop an appropriate environment of trust for attracting and motivating best students, teachers and support staffs. Establish state of the art infrastructure and maintain the same round the clock. Abide by policies of Government and establish a network with Industry and Academic Institutes.
The vision of the RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata will nurture, encourage and produce self-reliant, knowledgeable motivated professionals, capable of meaningful contribution towards the theory and practice of Information and allied Technology, so that it can sustain its place as acclaimed center of excellence, learning and research. A number of fully equipped workshops and laboratories are operational at the RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata . The basic Engineering Laboratories include Mechanical Workshop, Electrical Laboratory, Physics Laboratory, Basic Electronics Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, and Engineering Drawing Hall.
The institute has a well equipped library fully automated through the LIBSYS software. It has a rich pool of text and reference books, conference proceedings, periodicals, journals, thesis/ dissertations, reports, maps etc. and also CD/DVD-based/online learning materials. Books on almost all subjects according to academic course structure are available in the library. RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata Students and faculty members from other engineering institutes and alumnus sometimes visit the library to consult some valuable reference books or archives. The library manages a reprographic center to cater to the needs of the authorized users. Apart from Librarian and other library staff working dedicate for extending best possible service to the users there is 8-member library committee comprising of the Librarian and faculty representatives of all department including Principal. Library being ‘the heart of the institute’ the management gives highest priority for its development and resource expansion.
RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata library is located in the third floor of the institute’s main building, adjacent to the conference room and placement cell. Being far from the classes and labs the ambiance is just conducive for learning.
The students of the RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata organizes a technical fest every year which sharpens there technical skills. Software competitions, Paper presentations, Programming in various languages, technical quiz and debate competitions are held. Technical colleges from all over the state are invited to participate in the competitions. Seminars and exhibitions are also held as a part of this program. College offers different kind of Bachelors courses leading to engineering and technology stream in various fields.
Routine visits to the IT companies who have already rated RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata and recruited students through Campus Interview. A minimum two placement tours in different cities of the country to introduce RCCIIT to companies who have not recruited students from our Institute. Target is to bring one or two new companies for campus interview every year. Host pooled campus interviews conducted by different companies; Students apart from RCC Institute of Information Technology – RCCIIT Kolkata come from different premier Colleges of West Bengal. They have tie ups with Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant Technology Solutions, WIPRO Technology Ltd., Infosys, IBM, L&T InfoTech, SPI, KANBAY, HCL and others.
