School of Communication and Management Studies-SCMS library possesses nearly 21,000 latest volumes in management and is considered a basic source of information even by practicing managers as well as academicians of the neighbouring institutions. The School subscribes to about 220 leading national and international business and management journals including Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Business Week, U. S. Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, World Executive Digest, Forbes, Economist, Time, News Week, Media Asia, World Economic Digest, Business India, Business Today, Capital Market, Business World and several other periodicals and dailies for the benefit of the students. Another 1500 e-journals are subscribed online.
School of Communication and Management Studies-SCMS Cochin has three computer centres. They are equipped with Pentium based multimedia systems. There are 450 PCs on LAN available for students and faculty. Our computer centres are rated as the best available in management institutions in India. The students can access internet facility through our leased lines not only in the computer centres but also anywhere in the campus through the Wi-Fi system. Both the library and the computer centres are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on all days. The students can surf for information on a global basis.
It is compulsory that all students of School of Communication and Management Studies-SCMS stay in the hostel during the period of their study. Excellent accommodation is provided in the hostels of SCMS-Cochin. Girls have their hostel in the new campus while boys have their hostels in the old campus. The new ladies hostel at Prathap Nagar has AC and non AC rooms with all modern amenities. This hostel can accommodate 300 students. The two Men’s Hostels together can accommodate 325 students. Facilities for extracurricular activities at the hostels help students keep fit and sprightly. At School of Communication and Management Studies-SCMS Cochin the health problems of students are taken care of by having arrangements with Hospitals.
The Management Students’ Syndicate is an entity formed to facilitate effective interaction with the corporate world. It’s functions include organizing seminars by inviting experts from the industry and arranging visits to organizations to understand their functioning. Under its aegis students also undertake specific assignments on behalf of the industry. The faculty lends the needed support.
