Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune was established in year 2003 by Sinhgad Technical Education Society Vadgaon (Budruk) Pune. Vision of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune is to enable students to acquire strong academic knowledge with assertive viewpoint, communication skills and all-round personality having a seed of Core-Values to face the global requirements successfully. Mission of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune is to provide quality education in disciplines of humanities, commerce, administration and information and communication technology from undergraduate to masters level with the blend of creativity, professionalism, research and innovation.
Objectives of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune are to create areas of excellence within humanities, commerce, administration and information and communication technology, while identifying and promoting new trends and sustainable development. To enable students to be ‘Professional par Excellence’ by providing strong base of content knowledge, literary, administrative and computing skills along with integrity and accountability. Library Committee work under Chairmanship of Principal, Students Representative, Faculty Member and Librarian as Member Secretary. A separate specious library with stack room and reading hall is significant assets of the college. A library has section for issue and receipt of books, adequate stacking facilities for books and journals and provision of reference desk with fully loaded Encyclopedias, Handbooks, Dictionaries and Multimedia.
Computer Lab of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune is designed in a big spacious area. Computer lab is utilized for the purpose of Practical sessions, Demo Lectures and administrative / staff work. Switches connect campus backbone on CAT 5 to connect all the labs. Round the clock internet facility is available to in the campus with500Kbps speed. Hostel facilities of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune provide excellent hostel facilities for students. Gent’s hostel and ladies hostels are located in the campus itself so it makes easy access between college and students. The hostels and hostel facilities are of high quality and well equipped. The boy’s hostel can accommodate 300 boys and girls hostel 160 girls respectively Members of the teaching staff are appointed as Resident Tutors in the hostel. The rooms provide most modern facilities and privacy.
The hostel system of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune runs under the control of chief warden Principal Dr. K.V.Bachute and resident rectors. All the hostels have mess facilities for students. The mess is spacious, highly hygienic and elegant. The hostel complex for girls is managed by Rector Mrs. Smita Jadhav. Internet and Computer Facilities are also available in the hostel. Every room has intercom facility. All students are given 4 seated rooms and each student is provided with a cot, a table and a chair in their respective rooms. Each room is provided with a ceiling fan.
Training and Placement Cell of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune are an integral part of the institute. The institute has provided complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programmes. The cell keeps on invites various industries and reputed firms for campus recruitment. The cell is sensitized to function all through the year towards generating placement and training opportunities for the students.
Placement Cell of Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce – SCOAC Pune along with the Alumni of the Institute, aims at making available quality placement opportunities for students and at maintaining linkages with Human Resource Departments in the Industry and Research Organizations. The Cell is headed by a Training and Placementco-Cordinator (TPC) and has members. These members are also responsible for maintaining contacts with Industries specific and for arranging placement visits to the Campus.
