In August 1987, the foundation joined hands with Welcomgroup, the hotel division of ITC Ltd, and a progressive hotel chain having linkage to Starwood Company of USA. Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration-WGSHA Manipal training and development activities are recognised by the International Hotel Association, Paris. In July 2003, it became a constituent college of Manipal University.
