JJM Medical College - Davangere was established in the year 1965, affiliated to Mysore University, Mysore and to Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shimoga District from 1987 and later to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore since 1996. JJM Medical College - Davangere with a mandate to work towards developing socially responsible and competent health work force is striving continuously to meet the health needs of the region in a tertiary level responsibility.

At JJM Medical College - Davangere Hostel facility is provided for both boys and girls separately with a provision for single and double occupancy to accommodate 1092 boys and 768 girls. Separate provisions are made for men and women postgraduates. The kitchens in these hostels are on modern lines.
